Enhance and apply knowledge of spinal cord injury (SCI) within an inpatient rehabilitation setting.

Develop Resource

Create a patient and family resource to enhance skill acquisition, knowledge of condition, and self-management skills for improved functional outcomes.

Increase Competence

Demonstrate increased confidence and competence in performing evaluations, administering assessments, and delivering interventions to patients with SCI.

Pilot Education Initiative

Pilot the education initiative with patients and families at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab and obtain outcome measures to determine the feasibility and effectiveness of a novel product.

Identify Needs

Identify the self-management needs of SCI patients, families, and therapists to better inform inpatient rehabilitation practice and contribute to the development of self-management interventions.

Disseminate Knowledge

Disseminate knowledge to clinicians, organization administrators, and occupational therapy students through the creation of tailored resources.
